Despite the strangeness and difficulty of the current situation it is still true that Jesus died and rose again for us and so we have much to celebrate! With the exception of Maundy Thursday all the events below will be accessed via our YouTube Channel.
Maundy Thursday (9th April) – Standing Strong Live (8:15pm)
Join an online webinar at which Eddie Lyle, President of Open Doors, and church leaders from the UK and Ireland, along with some from the persecuted church, will be sharing what is strengthening them in this moment and how they are seeing Jesus at work where they are. To join this you have to register in advance (click here).
As part of this event they will be sharing communion and are asking people to have bread and wine to hand so as to join in. Anglican clergy have been given clear instructions that we may not host a communion service online so we can’t formally recommend that part of the event to you, even though you might find it helpful, and we leave it up to you to make your own decision as to whether or not you want to take part in that bit.
Good Friday (10th April)
- Do you know why it’s called Good Friday? (10:30am) A special session for children with the Good Friday story and ideas of something big to make over the weekend.
- An Hour at the Cross (12:00pm) A quiet hour with some readings, reflections, music and lots of time to meditate, think and pray by yourself.
Saturday (11th April) – Are We Nearly There Yet? (10:30am)
Watch Gemma read an Easter story with a difference to our children.
Easter Sunday (12th April) – Celebration Service (10:30am)
Join us for our Easter Sunday celebration service! We’ll be singing, coming to God’s word and praying, and there will be a section specially for our children, and the whole church family is invited to join in a zoom conversation afterwards to catch up and pray for each other (details of how to join that zoom conversation are on our Coronavirus page)
