The New Website

(you don't have to be a church member to  REGISTER and use the extended features of the website)

REGISTRATION 

Start at the registration page and enter a few details, after which you'll receive an email with a link to activate your account.   Click the link and you can then login and start using the advanced features of the website.

PROFILE - CONNECT UP!

While logged in, click on 'My Profile' in the user menu below the login box, and you'll go to your profile pages. Here you can edit and update your online details in more depth, adding your address, website and other information for registered people to see.

Here you can also administer your registered events, connections and private messages with other users, and see a user list of other members to connect with.

CHAT!

Once you're logged in, St. Mary's website now has a chat system, similar to Facebook.  After log in, a chat bar appears accross the bottom of the screen. After clicking on the right end of the bar, which displays the number of online members, you can choose to chat to them by clicking their name. The other user receives a chat request, and if they accept, a conversation window appears for you to type.

St. Mary's website also has an inbuilt private encrypted messaging system, available through the profile page and user menu.

FORUM

We chose a fireboard forum for the website, because of it's familiar functionality. Your registration gains you access to the forumm, where you can post, reply and edit messages as normal, and even upload pictures. Simply click on the forum link to get started.

SEARCH

The website is fully searchable, with indexes running on all sections. Go to search, enter your keywords and get the informaion you want!

MORE

As well as all the information from our previous website, we also created an events calendar so you can keep up-to-date and register for special events online (this appears in your profile), a downloads section for current documents such as notice-sheets and rotas, a gallery for pictures of church events and a page which displays the St. Mary's Facebook group - you can use Facebook from within the site - all in one place!
